Dyslalia is a disorder of articulation of phonemes that allows the pronunciation of words not to come out correctly. It is a disorder characterized by difficulty in articulating words. Those who have dyslalia, change the words for similar ones in the pronunciation, speak wrongly, omitting or changing the letters. The person cannot articulate and pronounce some words, especially when they have "R" or "L", and, therefore, they change these words for others with similar pronunciation. It is very common among children and when they start to speak it is normal that they do not speak correctly, however, at a certain age the language must be perfected and the child must improve his pronunciation. Briefly speaking, it is the disturbance in the articulation of words due to damage to one of Organs vocal organs. Causes: Dental malocclusion, tongue frenulum, lip malformations (eg, cleft lip or cleft palate) can cause dyslalia. Children with some type of hearing impairment have speech difficulties. Procedures that may be considered: 1. Request a speech-language assessment before starting literacy, in addition to periodic (annual) hearing and eye exams; 2. Stimulation of auditory perception so that the child can identify and correct their emission of phonemes, syllables, words and phrases; 3. Articulate the words well, making the children clearly understand all the phonemes, among others.
